BREAKING NEWS: Team GB high jumper Germaine Mason dead after motorcycle crash

Jamaican media reported Mason, 34, was heading towards Kingston, Jamaica, when he lost control of his motorbike and crashed.

Reports claim Mr Mason had been on a night out with triple world and Olympic champion Usain Bolt before the crash.

Sprinter Michael Frater is also believed to have been there.

The pair were among the first on the scene at around 4.20am this morning.

Reports say he died at the scene.

Bolt and Mason partied together in London in August 2016, with British model Erica Carvalho and friends.

Retired Jamaica-born high jumper is Jamaica’s national record holder in the high jump event.

Mason won silver medal for Great Britain in the high jump at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness tweeted: “Our sincere condolences to the entire sporting fraternity.”
