CAPE TOWN — Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie has once again responded to comments made by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Leader Julius Malema in Parliament, escalating tensions between the two political figures.
McKenzie accused Malema of engaging in bullying tactics and disruptive behavior during parliamentary sessions. He claimed that Malema openly insults fellow members of Parliament in full view of the South African public.
“I won’t be a victim of Malema’s unruly conduct,” McKenzie stated firmly. “I can be just as defiant when necessary.”
The minister suggested that Malema has largely avoided consequences for his actions due to others’ reluctance to challenge him. However, McKenzie made it clear that he would not turn a blind eye to such behavior.
This latest exchange stems from an earlier incident in Parliament where Malema referred to McKenzie as a “jail bird,” a derogatory reference to McKenzie’s past incarceration.
This marks the second time McKenzie has publicly addressed Malema’s comments, indicating a growing rift between the two politicians.
