Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries proprietor, Walter Magaya, made an official announcement on Wednesday, confirming the signing of Khama Billiat for the upcoming 2024 league season. Yadah representatives were seen at Robert Mugabe airport, warmly receiving the former Warriors star. Scott Sakupwanya, the gold dealer and owner of Better Brands, the official sponsor of Magaya’s club, was also on hand to extend a warm welcome to Khama.
Sources have revealed that Magaya’s football team, Yadah, offered Khama Billiat a whopping $5000 monthly salary to lure him away from Dynamos. It also presented Billiat with a staggering $20,000 sign-on fee upon his return from South Africa on Tuesday night. This lucrative offer positions Billiat as the top earner in the Premier Soccer League. To put this into perspective, senior players in the local PSL typically earn between $800-$700, with junior players receiving around $200-$300 at financially stable clubs. Currently, the highest-paid player at Dynamos earns approximately $1400 per month.
The Miracle Boys successfully secured the signature of Billiat, beating out Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos, who initially expressed interest in the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward. “Yadah gave Khama (Billiat) 15 000 Dollars (R283K) and he signed with them (last night), they had cash on them,” said Dynamos executive vice-chairman Vincent Chawonza, clearly disappointed by having lost the superstar to Yadah. In addition to Dembare, both Manica Diamonds and reigning league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars were also contenders in the competition to secure Khama’s signature.
Yadah will officially unveil Billiat on Thursday, setting the stage for an exciting clash against Dynamos in their first home match of the 2024 season. Prior to this match, Yadah will face off against Hwange and Eastern Region champions in their first two away games.
