Former president, Cde Robert Mugabe has sent a message of condolences to the Stamps family following the death of former Health Advisor in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Timothy Stamps.
In his condolence message, Cde Mugabe said Dr Stamps contributed immensely in the fight against many chronic diseases especially HIV and AIDS when he was the Minister of Health and Child Welfare.
“Among many of his immense contributions to the nation, Dr Timothy Stamps is vividly remembered for his fight against many chronic diseases, especially HIV/AIDS,” said Cde Mugabe.
Cde Mugabe said together with Dr Stamps they both endeavored to establish a hospital in every district of Zimbabwe, adding that Dr Stamps was a sociable and affable individual who related well with colleagues as much as he did with everyone else.
The former president said he was happy that Dr Stamps had been declared a national hero.
