AT LEAST FIVE people have been killed after two army helicopters crashed near a lake in southern France, investigators have said.
A rescue operation was under way to find the sixth passenger after the crash on Friday morning.
A security source and an official from the local authority said five people were killed in the crash.
It happened about 30 miles (50km) northwest of Saint-Tropez.
The circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
