Gunmen kill educator and wound companion in early morning attack outside Ekuthuleni Primary.

A 54-year-old school principal was fatally shot outside Ekuthuleni Primary School in Kraaifontein on Thursday morning, with a female companion also injured in the attack.

The shooting occurred around 7 a.m. as students arrived for classes. Three unidentified men approached the principal’s white Mahindra vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

“Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes detectives are on the scene,” said police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk. Police have launched a manhunt and urged witnesses to contact Detective Colonel Eddie Clark or Crime Stop.
The motive remains unclear as investigations continue.
