HARARE- Outspoken political activist Blessed Geza has released a new video on YouTube titled Thank You Zimbabwe | The Way Forward After March 31 I More Exposes. In it, he thanks Zimbabweans for their support amid ongoing political and economic turmoil while sharply criticizing President Emmerson Mnangagwa and businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei.
Geza accused the Zimbabwean government of suppressing peaceful protests, particularly those led by young activists in Harare. He condemned police brutality, stating: “The voices of young people seeking change are being silenced by force. These protests are not acts of violence; they are cries for help.”
A significant portion of the video focused on Tagwirei, a powerful ally of the ruling ZANU-PF party. Geza claimed that Tagwirei was involved in undermining Zimbabwe’s land reform program by using his financial influence to facilitate the repossession of farms from struggling farmers. “Why should Tagwirei’s banks be the only ones authorized to offer loans to farmers, especially when it means they could lose their land in the process?” he questioned.
Tagwirei has denied the allegations, asserting that his businesses do not participate in land seizures. He explained that bankable title deeds are meant to help farmers access financial support rather than lead to dispossession.
Geza further alleged that Tagwirei harbors presidential ambitions, warning that his growing political influence could consolidate power among Zimbabwe’s elite. “Tagwirei is not just interested in running businesses; he wants to be president of Zimbabwe,” he claimed.
His accusations add to the rising tensions within ZANU-PF as economic challenges persist. While Blessed Geza remains an outspoken critic despite being expelled from the party and facing treason charges, his influence continues to grow through online platforms like YouTube. Whether his calls for change will translate into political action remains to be seen as Zimbabwe nears key political events in the coming months.
