Zimbabwean Man fingered in Unisa Exam Scam

A notorious Zimbabwean man has allegedly been fingered as the leak in what has turned out to be one of South Africa’s biggest exam scams.

People needs to distance from these tutorial companies that are fraudulently selling unisa papers. This degrades the integrity and standards of the institute and its qualifications…

Luciano Tutorials owned by a Zimbabwean fugitive called Luciano Rungano. Is at the centre of the exam fraud.
Rungano who is linked to a number of fraud cases is alleged to be leaking Unisa exam papers and answers to students on social media platforms.
Following reports of Rungano’s activities on social media platforms Unisa has issued the following statement.

“COMPROMISED EXAMINATIONS
Dear Unisa Student

The University is aware that there are several examination question papers from the October/November 2019 examination session which have been compromised.

This matter is being investigated and the investigation is at an advanced stage. Unisa has identified individuals who have compromised the integrity of our examinations and the necessary measures to address the situation will be implemented in the very near future.

It is important to note that the University has also identified several students who have been communicating on WhatsApp/telegram groups regarding the availability and purchasing of examination question papers. These cases are being followed up by the SAPS.
Students are warned that any participation in WhatsApp/ telegram groups or any other actions which may compromise the integrity of the examination process will be disciplined and may also be criminally charged. In addition, students found to have participated in compromising the integrity of the exams or any of the University’s assessment processes will be sanctioned. Such sanctions may include permanent expulsion from the University of South Africa and from all other South African universities.

Rungano is said to be a relative to Zimbabwean business tycoon Tonderai Nyambirai. Report Focus News has seen and has in its possession text messages sent to Unisa students by Rungano’s college soliciting and offering exam papers and answers for R2000.
One student who was contacted by Rungano told Report Focus News that “he (Rungano) is selling exam papers to be written not yet released).meaning he is fraudulently and corruptingly sourcing them.it is a crime indeed.”
