SB Moyo Is Recovering Well: Mutodi

Zimbabwe Deputy Minister of Information, Energy Mutodi has tweeted that Sibusiso Moyo, the minister of Foreign Affairs is recovering well from ‘minor illness’ at Avenues Clinic.

SB Moyo is reportedly suffering from renal complication and was expected to join President Emmerson Mnangagwa on his trip to the United Nations General Council but could not make it as he is admitted in the hospital.

 

 

Minister Sibusiso Moyo shot to fame as the poster boy of the military coup that toppled former President Robert Mugabe in November 2017. As a Major General in the Zimbabwe National Army Sibusiso Moyo was the one that read out the statement after soldiers took over the state broadcaster ZBC.

Moyo read out a statement denying that a coup had taken place, stating that “the president… and his family are safe and sound and their security is guaranteed”, and that the military was “only targeting criminals around [Mugabe] who were committing crimes.
