Romanian woman dies after falling into the Thames during Westminster attack

Today police confirm Andrea Cristea the Romanian architect is dead after being left on life support following the Westminster attack. She was rescued from the river Thames after being knocked in by Khalid Masood’s car.

We all saw the horrifying moment Andrea Cristea fell off the Thames bridge and into the water below. There was much speculation at first that she jumped to get out the way but details were revealed later.

Her boyfriend Andrew Burnaz is left devastated as he was set to propose to Cristea later that day. They enjoyed celebrating her birthday in London before the tragic attack ended their time together.

Burnaz is currently in a wheelchair after being hit by Masood’s car and is lucky to be alive. He laid a single white rose in remembrance before his girlfriend passed away.

In a statement to the press her family described her as a ‘wonderful daughter, sister, partner, dedicated friend and the most unique and life loving person you can imagine’.

They said she ‘fought for her life for two weeks’, adding: ‘There are no words to even begin to describe the crushing pain and emptiness that is left in our hearts.’
The four other victims were PC Keith Palmer, 48, American tourist Kurt Cochran, 54, Aysha Frade, 44, and Leslie Rhodes, 75.
This attack is one that will sit in the hearts of Londoners and the world for a to come as we continue to come to terms with this devastating event.
