Forty-four passengers were on board the plane belonging to South Supreme Airlines, officials at the carrier told journalists. “About 17 to 18 people injured in the incident were taken to hospital,” said James Dimo Deng, a journalist in Wau, told Reuters. Officials could not immediately be reached for further information.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and pictures show the burned out wreckage of the plane with just the tail fin visible.
‘About 17 to 18 people injured in the incident were taken to hospital,’ said James Dimo Deng, a journalist in Wau, said.
The crash is believed to have happened when the plane came down to land after flying from Juba to Wau.

Authorities are yet to give details of the number of casualties, but South Sudan’s Eye radio is reporting that nine people were pulled alive from the wreckage to be taken to hospital.
