Police are apparently considering a warrant of arrest for Grace Mugabe, after she failed to hand herself over.

It’s understood Mugabe failed to meet a deadline to hand herself over to police, as per legal agreement.

She was due to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court this afternoon

Mugabe is accused of assaulting a woman on Sunday night at a Sandton hotel.

It’s unclear what sparked the incident, but it’s being reported Mugabe found the woman in a hotel room with her son.

We understands that lawyers representing the Zimbabwean first lady are negotiating with officers at the Sandton police station.

Mugabe signed a legal agreement to hand herself over to police at 10am on Tuesday morning, Manyathela explains.

They had an agreement between Grace Mugabe and the police that she would hand herself over today at 10am. That didn’t happen. She didn’t show.

Sources in the police say they are disappointed that Mugabe did not honour the agreement and are considering a warrant of arrest for her.

Where in the world is Grace Mugabe?

Meanwhile, immigration attorney Gary Eisenberg says Mugabe is not immune from prosecution.

According to Eisenberg, there is an extradition agreement between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
