JOHANNESBURG – Zimbabwean first lady Grace Mugabe is set to appear in court this afternoon.

It’s not yet been confirmed exactly what charges she will face, but Mugabe is accused of assaulting a woman on Sunday night at a Sandton hotel.

The 20-year-old apparently sustained injuries to her face. It’s unclear what sparked the incident, but it’s being reported Mugabe found the woman in a hotel room with her son.

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has confirmed that the first lady is expected in court today, as has a source in the National Prosecuting Authority.

According to the Zimbabwe Mail, Mugabe was in South Africa to have her foot examined after a freak accident.
