DURBAN – Search and rescue efforts are ongoing in KwaZulu-Natal as authorities continue to look for more victims following devastating floods that have left at least seven people dead.
Torrential rains have damaged nearly 300 homes in Durban, forcing residents to seek shelter in community halls and public facilities. Efforts have now shifted to recovery, evacuation, and rehousing.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson confirmed that search teams remain active in affected areas.
“I can confirm that the two children who unfortunately drowned were from the same incident. SAPS Search and Rescue and Metro Police Search and Rescue are still looking for more victims following the flash floods,” he said.
