Prophet Bushiri’s Crossover event hangs in limbo

Malawi-The much anticipated Malawi Crossover event for the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) which is scheduled for the 31st December has been put on hold as the Malawian government says the event May contravene the COVID 19 regulations.

The dilemma comes following government dissatisfaction on the total number of people who might turn up for the event and hence compromise the covid-19 measures.

Thusly, the Malawian Government has rescinded it’s decision to allow Prophet Shepherd Bushiri conduct his crossover prayers at the Bingu National Stadium on the 31st of December 2020.

The government fears that alot of people might turn up for the event against the measures of Covid-19 in the country.
Stadium Acting Manager A. Mwaungulu has cited a huge number of people to attend will contravene Covid-19 prevention measures.
The letter dated December 11, 2020, addressing to ECG Head of Communication and Public Relations, Ephraim Nyondo, the stadium management has reversed the decision after thorough consultation.

“Despite communication that the number to attend be reduced, the event is mostly to attract people beyond even the normal capacity at the stadium. This will contravene the Covid-19 pandemic preventive measures.

“The Stadium will be undergoing maintenance in preparation for CAF inspection which will happen in early January 2021. At the time of CAF inspection, management may not have enough time to restore the stadium to its normal status due to anticipated damages and losses during your function, its along time to for such damage or losses to be repaired or recovered respectively as seen past experiences,” reads the letter.
Head of Communications and Public Relations Ephraim Nyondo confirmed of receipt of the letter from the Bingu National Stadium Management about the cancellation of hosting the Miracle night crossover on 31 December 2020.

“Our Church administration is swiftly and with necessary urgency and speed, accurately handling the matter and , therefore , we appeal for calm to all our members and followers under the circumstances.

“We shall keep you informed of any developments envisaged thereon,” said Nyondo on his Facebook page.
