“VP Komichi conviction unfortunate, barbaric
The MDC condemns and dismisses the conviction of Vice President Sen Morgen Komichi on allegations of disrupting ZEC proceedings as barbaric
We are aware that both the charges and conviction are an attempt to stifle expression and opinion which are a Constitutional rights.
It is however concerning for institutions of the state to be used in pursuit of a partisan agenda.
As we said before this is command military injustice.
The MDC will fight for restoration of a Constitutional order, sanctity of civilian institutions and spaces.
The Judiciary must not only be independent but the people of Zimbabwe must have confidence in the adminstration of justice.
Unfair, fast-tracked trials and command convictions must come to an end should we truly intend to build this nation.
The MDC condemns dirty tactics being employed by this military government.
Defining a New Course for Zimbabwe.”
