Phelekezela Mphoko begs Mugabe

November 9, 2017

The second Vice President of Zimbabwe Phelekezela Mphoko has urged president Robert Mugabe to quickly appoint Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s successor saying that he is “now lonely”.

Giving a vote of thanks at the ZANU-PF politiburo meeting held in the capital yesterday VP Mphoko said the 93- year old President should not be afraid or ashamed to appoint his wife as Vice President.

“In 2014 you appointed me to be your deputy, you also appointed my colleague but he is no longer with us.

“I am now lonely you Excellency, l felt it yesterday. Kindly appoint a counter part for me,” he said.

“I am glad because people have identified the one they want.

“Do not be afraid or ashamed to appoint your own wife.

“She is a Zimbabwean and the people want her,” said VP Mphoko as he concluded his remarks.

However, thousands of people hailed praises at him calling him Mdla Wethu to which he responded angilabantu , abantu ngabakaBaba (l do not have people , people belong to the President.)

Mphoko is a happy man since he is a loyal member of the G40 so having the First Lady as his colleague would be a blessing to him.
