The Gqeberha High Court in the Eastern Cape has dismissed an application by the state seeking clarification on the judgment that acquitted televangelist Timothy Omotoso and his co-accused, Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho. Judge Nyameko Gqamana ruled that the state is not entitled to clarification on the decision delivered by Judge Irma Schoeman.
Omotoso, Sulani, and Sitho trial/">faced charges of racketeering, human trafficking, and rape. They were acquitted on all counts earlier this year, prompting the state’s request for further explanation of the judgment. The court’s dismissal of the application marks the latest development in the high-profile case.
