Meet Angel Nambatya,  a descendant of Swedes and Africans who grew up in the mixed cultures from the streets of Stockholm (Sweden) and Kampala, the Capital city of Uganda, (Eastern Africa).

The, Swedish-based Afrobeat sensation who is redefining what it means to chase multiple dreams.

While many struggle to balance careers, Angel thrives in two: she is a professional nurse by day and a soulful singer by night.

“My patients inspire my music,” she says with a warm smile. “Caring for people keeps me grounded.”

Angel’s music fuses Afrobeat, R&B, dancehall, and reggae, a cocktail that has made her songs “Am In Love” and “Nkwagala Nyo” popular on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and TikTok. Her latest release, “NO MATTER,”continues to attract streams and social media buzz, cementing her as a rising star to watch.

Last Ugandan Performance

Her last performance on Ugandan soil was at Resort Beach in Entebbe, where fans danced under the lakeside moonlight to her hit singles. When asked about her favourite local meal, she beams instantly:

“Matooke, rice, and meat. Nothing tastes like home.”

Behind the Mic

Angel collaborates with talented producers and songwriters including Angel Music , creating a rich sound rooted in her culture yet polished for international airwaves.

With dual citizenship, she effortlessly bridges her Ugandan heritage and Swedish lifestyle. While performing abroad, she proudly represents Uganda, and while working as a nurse, she carries the resilience of her homeland.

More Than a Name

Angel shares a surname with another famous Ugandan, Dr. Grace Nambatya, renowned for preserving Uganda’s cultural heritage through medicinal chemistry and research. Though unrelated professionally, both women symbolise Uganda’s global excellence in different fields.

What’s Next?

Angel Nambatya is currently working on new projects and collaborations with Ugandan artists, promising fresh music for her growing fanbase.

Whether healing lives in Swedish hospitals or healing hearts through her music, Angel proves that with faith, talent, and determination, you can be everything you were created to be.
