JOHANNESBURG- ActionSA has announced it will abstain from a vote of no confidence against Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero, scheduled for Wednesday’s council session. The motion comes just ten months into Morero’s tenure.

Despite its coalition with the African National Congress (ANC), ActionSA expressed concerns over Morero’s leadership. National chairperson Michael Beaumont told reporters, “Service delivery in Johannesburg has collapsed. Traffic lights are not working.” He stated the party had no basis to defend the mayor.

The ANC-led coalition, holding 142 council seats without ActionSA’s support, is expected to secure Morero’s position.
