HARARE – Senator Tshabangu, through his lawyer Nqobizitha Mlilo, issued a statement questioning the independence of the party’s disciplinary panel. He announced plans to subpoena panel members’ phone records to identify who was allegedly directing their decisions.
“The differences have become irreconcilable,” Tshabangu’s statement read. He vowed to address internal divisions by restoring order to CCC’s parliamentary and local government caucuses.
The disciplinary hearing, chaired by Senators Sesel Zvidzai and Hon. Concllia Chinanzvavana, with Gilbert Kagodora present, failed to provide Tshabangu with a formal charge sheet or constitutional basis for the proceedings, according to his legal team.
Tshabangu likened his planned intervention to switching off the “main socket” of political confusion, promising to resolve invisible forces contributing to party discord.
The senator emphasized that Parliamentary and Local Government Caucuses must operate efficiently as vital party organs. He assured CCC members of his commitment to eliminating uncertainty within the party structure.
Communication between parties has broken down completely, Tshabangu’s legal team reported, making an amicable resolution unlikely in the current climate.
