Jacob Zuma has demanded his daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla publicly apologize for social media posts attacking MK Party (MKP) secretary-general Floyd Shivambu, threatening party expulsion if she fails to comply.

The confrontation emerged after Zuma-Sambudla posted on X platform, calling Shivambu “useless” and describing him as the “worst thing that happened to MK.”

MKP released an official statement condemning the posts as “unacceptable, divisive, denigrating, and offensive,” stating they violated the party’s disciplinary code of conduct.

The party mandated Zuma-Sambudla issue unconditional apologies to Shivambu, the party president, MK members and supporters, and all South Africans. She must also apologize to structures she leads, including the Southern Caucus of the Pan-African Parliament.

Failure to comply will result in “immediate consequences,” including termination of her party membership and removal from all party responsibilities, according to the statement.

Shivambu has acknowledged the party statement through a retweet but has not issued any personal response to the situation.

The internal conflict highlights growing tensions within the recently formed MK Party as it navigates its political position in South Africa.
