Former Economic Freedom Fighters spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has revealed he was suspended from the party over allegations of collaborating with the uMkhonto we Sizwe party, leading to his eventual resignation from the EFF.

In an exclusive interview with SABC News, Ndlozi said party officials suspended him six weeks before the EFF’s National People’s Assembly in November 2023, preventing his attendance at the crucial gathering.

“The suspension was unconventional in that it didn’t rely on the code of conduct of the EFF summoned by its constitution,” Ndlozi said, addressing months of speculation about his absence from party activities.

Ndlozi firmly denied any connection to the MK party, stating “I never planned to join the MKP. I still don’t. I have never worked with anybody in the MKP in relation to any conspiracy about my departure.”

The former MP confirmed his complete withdrawal from party politics. “I have left the EFF, I have left party politics. I have handed over my resignation as a member because where I want to go and contribute, I can’t hold a single party membership,” he said.

Speaking on broader political issues, Ndlozi praised President Cyril Ramaphosa’s stance against recent U.S. criticism of South African policies. “No white puppet acts like that,” he said, referring to Ramaphosa’s defense of policies like the NHI and Bela Bill against international pressure.

He called for more unified progressive governance, saying “My hope is that there would be a radical conversation for the progressive forces in the country” to improve implementation of policies benefiting citizens.

Ndlozi served as the EFF’s national spokesperson and Member of Parliament, playing a key role in the party’s public image and parliamentary presence since its formation in 2013.
