Two Harare teenagers are facing serious charges after allegedly killing a rival suitor during a violent altercation over a commercial sex worker.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident.
“Police in Southlea Park are investigating a case of murder in which two male juveniles, aged 17 and 16, attacked and killed the victim, Nelson Chiripanyanga (33), with fists and an unknown sharp object following an argument over a lady of the night,” said Commissioner Nyathi in a statement.
In a separate incident, police in Marondera have arrested Knowledge Kapesa (36), a suspected mental patient, in connection with a murder that took place at Rasternburg Farm on July 27, 2024.
Kapesa allegedly struck his father, Manuel Kapesa (76), with stones on the head after his father refused to give him sweet potatoes. The victim reportedly died on the spot.
The investigations in both cases are ongoing.
