The Zimbabwean based Gospel legend Sabastian Magacha released his first video since his last hit song with Jah Prayzah Mweya Mutsvene over a year ago.
His latest offering Chamunyurududu is an upbeat gospel, track combines that church choir harmonies, slide guitar, a classic Zim beat (Jiti), mixed in with those raspy vocals all while embracing Magacha’s Zimbabwean roots. Chamunyurududu had me playing it on repeat. It combines so many wonderful parts of everything quintessentially Magacha.
There’s a real upbeat energy about the guitars/drums right from the beginning which peaked my interest and this energy doesn’t lessen at all as the song goes on.
Speaking to Report Focus News Sabastian Magacha who is arguably the most played gospel musician in Zimbabwe, with his music played at almost every wedding and celebration in Zimbabwe said “today was an emotional and exciting day for me as l released my latest song Chamunyurududu.”
The song which was produced by Macdonald Chidavaenzi aka Macdee has received raving reviews from the Zimbabwean community. The Zimbabwean born gospel sensation Sabastian said he was proud of his journey and also added that it was a great privilege for him to work with Mr Andy Cutta the man behind some of the best visuals in Zimbabwe. Magacha is credited for transforming gospel music videos in Zimbabwe with his colourful and exquisite dance routines and showcasing great pictures and camera angles.
Sabastian Magacha who had taken time out for personal reasons said he felt this was the right time for him to fully return to the music scene. “For the past 7 months I have been in a great space, emotionally and spiritually” said Magacha. The gospel hit maker went on to say “I believe my relationship with God is at it’s best and my creativeness has drastically improved due to this. I have so many amazing songs that I have been working on and I am excited to share with everyone this first song titled CHAMUNYURUDUDU, which is available on all media platforms as well as my official VEVO account MagachaSabastianVEVO.”

In an effort to showcase the beauty of nature in Zimbabwe, Sabastian Magacha and his team, managed to partner with Zambezi Cruise and Safari who boast to have some of Zimbabwe’s best vacation locations. For this particular video, the multi-million dollar Tourism company afforded the gospel legend exclusive use of their newest and luxurious lodge, Kariba Safari Lodge for the duration of the video shoot.
