Harare-MDC Vice Chairman and Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala whom is facing charges of subvertingat constitutional elected government has been granted bail.
Masvingo High Court judge, Justice Neville Wamambo granted Sikhala RTGS$5 000 bail and was ordered to surrender his passport to the Clerk of Court at Bikita Magistrates Court.
MDC National spokesperson Daniel Molokele confirmed the development.
“The MDC would like to confirm that our National Vice Chairman Hon. Job Sikhala has been granted 5000 RTGS bail.
“Hon Sikhala is still expected to appear in court on 24th July 2019 for his remand hearing” said Molokele
He expressed gratitude to party leaders and supporters who showed solidarity.
“The MDC also takes this opportunity to thank all our party leaders and members who actively expressed their solidarity to Hon. Sikhala” he said
Sikhala was arrested last week after comments he made at a party rally in which he said the MDC would overthrow the Mnangagwa government before 2023.
