Muhammadu Buhari holds an emergency meeting with service chiefs amidst mounting tension over elections

President Buhari of Nigeria is currently meeting with service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu

The meeting, the the top security chiefs, is at the President’s office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Report Focus News can confirm that governors from the northern part of the country are in attendance at this emergency meeting.

The governors present at the meeting include those of Adamawa State, Jibrilla Bindow, Borno State, Kashim Shettima, and Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai.

Also present at the meeting are the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazzau.

There is rife speculation from political commentators that the meeting is concerned with the security situation in the country following the postponement of elections.

Conservative estimates put no fewer than 66 people as having died due to politically motivated incidents in Kajuru, Kaduna State.
