An MP in Zimbabwe has taken a public HIV test to counter accusations made on social media that he had the virus.

Norton MP Temba Mliswa took a public HIV test on Tuesday as he battles claims of rampant unprotected sex with teenage girls.

Temba Mliswa, an independent legislator, tweeted a photo of a medical slip showing his negative result:

Mliswa was accused on Twitter on August 31 by an individual using the name @tindomai, who claimed the lawmaker had infected her friend with HIV.
