Zanu PF Matabeleland South Province has expressed dissatisfaction over the recently held primary elections with some party leaders pushing for fresh intra-party polls in all the constituencies.
However, Zanu PF secretary for information and publicity Cde Simon Khaya Moyo responded by saying that whilst the concerns of the province are genuine and valid there is need to appreciate that the Politburo assessed all the complaints and approved re-runs in 12 constituencies.
The Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) met at the party headquarters in Gwanda today, for the announcement of the names of candidates for the harmonised elections as well as to reflect on the recently held primary elections and discuss the roadmap for the coming polls.
The provincial chairman Cde Rabelani Choene however told the meeting that he had not yet received the names of the candidates who won the primary polls from the party head office.
On the primary election itself, disgruntled members expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the polls were conducted with the majority of members in the meeting calling for a re-run in all the constituencies.
In his response, Cde Khaya Moyo said there is need to appreciate that the Politburo assessed all the complaints and approved re-runs in 12 constituencies.
Zanu PF Politburo member Cde Aaron Maboyi called on the party to unite and draw lessons from the primary elections in order to do better in future.
The PCC was also told of plans to hold provincial and constituency rallies and meetings in preparation for the harmonised elections.
