Zimbabwe President Mugabe in Iran

President Robert Mugabe has arrived in Tehran the capital of Iran to attend the second inauguration of President Hassan Rouhani slated for tomorrow.

He was welcomed by Iranian Minister of Labour, Corporate and Social Services Ali Rabei, Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Iran Mr Nicholas Kitikiti and embassy officials.

President Rouhani, who had a landslide victory in May this year will be sworn in for his second term in office.

Zimbabwe and Iran share close ties as both countries have been at the receiving end of illegal US sanctions.

Meanwhile, Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the Acting President.
